Region Trail
Every regional banner has its own collection pool. Find the region containing your target before spending tickets: Kanto through Paldea are separate banners, with independent five-star pity. Your first run: move, select, survive
The personality test suggests a starting partner, but you can reject that suggestion and select another. Your choice determines your types, game stats and starting move. A partner can learn Normal moves and moves matching its own types, so two partners with different types will not have identical move options.
Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Your selected active move attacks automatically; the other move slots do not all fire at once. Press 1–4 to select a slot, cycle with Q or E, or select the move icon. On a phone or tablet, turn to landscape, drag to move and tap a move to select it. Esc pauses the game.
When you level up, choose between new moves, upgrades to existing moves and run stat cards. There are four move slots. A move evolution needs the move at its maximum level, its required stat card in that run and selection of the golden evolution card. Buff moves have no evolution. Plan those requirements before spending all your choices on a different attack.
Choose a collection goal
Regional gacha uses earned tickets. A single pull costs one regular ticket; ten pulls cost ten regular tickets or one ten-pull ticket. Five-star rarity and legendary or mythical status are separate: a five-star result is not automatically a legendary. You can collect 87 legendary or mythical partners.
Winning an ordinary legendary rift grants a Bond, rather than directly adding a normal legendary partner to your collection. Look for the partner in its regional gacha pool when your goal is a playable normal form. A defeated shiny enemy unlocks its shiny partner form; eligible wild enemies use a 1-in-4096 shiny roll, while eligible gacha results have a 1% shiny roll.
Held items change a run with one equipped item at a time. Leftovers restores 1.5% of HP per second; Choice Band raises damage by 40% but prevents switching moves. A newly found item is a replacement choice. Permanent upgrade tracks and achievements give you other progression goals between attempts.
Bring friends, or take the solo trail
Online co-op supports up to four players. With an online account, add friends by nickname, create a room and send invitations. The host coordinates shared experience and team leveling. Stay close to a fallen teammate for three seconds to revive them with half their maximum HP.
The online edition supports co-op, cloud saves and leaderboards. The author's downloadable HTML5 edition is solo-only and saves locally in the browser. Choose the online edition if you want to play with friends; choose the download for a solo session with local saving. The official game has no ads or purchases, and voluntary donations give no gameplay advantage.
